I came across a post a few weeks ago which was attempting to explain how todo a case insensitive query on data. Of course the solution works, well kind of it also fails really badly if you attempt to scale the size of the data.
The problem being is that when you change the collation on the data type sql server can no longer perform an index seek instead an index scan would be performed. This happens because the data stored in the index is case sensitive and a case insensitive operation is being attempted.

For some reason people seem to think I have a bank account in the bank of america but of course I don't! It also nice when they also don't actually know your name and address you as customer. I also fine it really funny how they ask you to turn on ActiveX!

Something that i knocked together a while ago for generating netflow stats from a cisco router. Its a little tool that when used properly on small / medium sized network it makes it possible to locate bandwidth hogs on limited internet connection very quickly.
You can get it from the netflow hosts page
